Spring 2022 Fashion Trends - Including Pearls!

According to an article from Good Morning America, the look has been "seen on everyone from singer Harry Styles to models on high-fashion spring/summer 2022 runways at Tom Ford, Valentino and more." At Dior's Resort 2022 Show, pearls were the highlight of the catwalk. The models wore pearls not only in their jewelry but also as embellishment on their eyelids, like jeweled eyeliner. Peter Philips, creative and image director of Christian Dior makeup says he wanted a “simple, beautiful face for everybody, and then we added a bit of a conceptual twist…".

So what exactly is "pearlcore"? It's based around the idea that you can rework a classic aesthetic and turn it into something modern while creating a mood. In the 1970s and 80s, a strand of pearls was considered very classic, but today's fashionistas are incorporating pearls into their more edgy styles.

InStyle recently shared some tips for doing "pearlcore" the right way. Smaller pearls can be worn for every day, while bigger pearls can be resolved for special events and gatherings.
